Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 May 2026
Yearly Bingo (“Yearly Bingo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile app for tracking a year of personal goals as a bingo sheet and, optionally, sharing your progress with people who follow you. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account and data.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details. Your email address when you sign up, or the identifier returned by Google or Apple if you use their sign-in. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Profile. Your username, display name, optional bio, optional profile photo (avatar), and your chosen profile visibility (public, followers-only, or private).
- Your content. The bingo sheets you create, the goals (“squares”) you write, ideas you jot down, and any posts, captions, and photos you publish about your goals.
- Social interactions. Who you follow, your follower/following relationships and follow requests, and the likes and comments you add to posts.
Information collected automatically
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, a device push token (via Expo's push service) so we can deliver alerts such as new followers, likes, and comments.
- Basic technical and log data. Information needed to operate the service securely — for example timestamps and error/diagnostic logs generated by our backend. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
- To provide the core app: building, displaying, and syncing your bingo sheets, goals, and ideas.
- To power social features — showing your posts to the audience you choose, managing follows, and surfacing likes and comments.
- To send push notifications you've opted into (you can turn these off in the app's notification settings or in your device settings).
- To keep the service safe and reliable — preventing abuse, debugging, and enforcing our terms.
3. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only in these ways:
- With other users, according to your settings. Content you mark public can be seen by anyone in the app; content limited to followers is shown only to approved followers; private content and private squares are visible only to you. Your username, display name, and avatar are visible where you appear (e.g. on posts you make public or to your followers).
- With service providers that run the app for us:
- Supabase — our backend: database, authentication, and storage for your profile, sheets, posts, and photos.
- Expo — delivery of push notifications via its push service.
- Google and Apple — only if you choose their sign-in, to authenticate you.
- For legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.
4. Storage, security, and retention
Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Traffic between the app and our backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and access to your rows is enforced by database row-level security so that, in general, only you and the audiences you choose can read your content. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed as described below.
5. Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, bingo sheets and squares, ideas, posts, photos, comments, likes, and follow relationships from our active systems. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you can't access the app, email us (see Contact below) from the address associated with your account and we will delete your account and data on your behalf.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most of your information directly in the app, delete your account as described above, or contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Children
Yearly Bingo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we may notify you in the app. Continued use of Yearly Bingo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
